Here is a tip for getting that thick ring perfectly round from @refraction_manufacturing - First use a ring bender to quickly get the ring into a circle, then close with a pair of pliers, careful not to mar your metal. Next you solder it closed. Then take your dapping block and give the ring a few gentle taps, it will become perfectly round! 🙌 Using this technique with the dapping block can work on rings of all sizes (even jump rings!)
