I love how quick our little community is growing 💕Is there a jeweler out there that inspires you? Tell us about them and tag them below! Let’s spread the love! Today I’m sharing the work of @ringgoldnicole who uses fabrication techniques to mimic nature motifs! 💕 - “I am often asked about tools of the trade, a difficult question to answer since there are so many. Yet I do have my favorites.
.
When it comes to shaping the silver using repoussé and chasing methods (as you can see in this picture), I have several platforms I use - a sandbag, rubber mat, steel anvil, and a bowl of pitch.
.
Once I solder the parts together (such as the veins of the leaves to the sheets of silver), I favor the planishing tools. I use them to stretch, texture and shape the metal.
.
I do teach these methods in some of my workshops, but I will also include a demonstration in the near future.” #metalsmithsociety #fabrication #jewelryfabrication #jewelerstools #benchjeweler #jewelrytechniques #jewelrycommunity
