If you need to make jump rings (for the #metalsmithchallenge 😉) you can create your own tool by soldering a washer to a rod. The washer will make the rod easier to secure in a vise. From there you can wrap your wire. Also featured in this image are knitting needles which are also handy to wrap wire around. I’ve definitely picked up anything lying around my studio when I’ve needed to make jump rings 😂 This image was borrowed from a book entitled “Chain Mail Jewelry” by Terry Taylor & Dylon White - if you are into chain mail that book has some cool projects😎 #metalsmithsociety #chainmaking #chainmakingtools #jewelrymakingtools #diyjewelrymakingtools #benchjeweler #modifiedjewelerstools
