Here is a tip for when you need something lined up when soldering from @ckmetaldesigns - “After I file a spot in the ring shank flat, I mark the sides of the ring with Sharpie at the flat part. Then when I am placing it on the bezel plate to solder, I have an easy way to see exactly where the flat part is and line it up properly.” Sharpie is definitely our friend, it can help you get that initial line up and then will fade away once you heat your piece.
