@night_shine_candy_jewelry - “I don't usually post bench tips but today I discovered something that changed my jeweler life! Modifying white rubber wheels into hand held ‘files’.....The brooch I am working on is full of nooks and crannies at sharp angles. I tried all sorts of bits and tools but they were either to harsh or not harsh enough or the wrong shape. After 4 hours I was wearing my grouchy pants. But there is a solution...and it doesn't involve hammering a piece into scrap. I looooove white rubber wheels but they are agressive as heck, disintegrate pretty fast and even the bullet shaped version didn't get close to fitting. Then eureka, hallelujah and all that jazz.... rubber wheels disintergrate.... which means they are very easy to modify into any shape including angled shapes. 🎷🎻😇😇😇😇😇🎻🎷
