Revisiting this tip because a flush seam is important when soldering a thin bezel wire, it helps prevent a receded appearance on the seam.
Double-sided tape is a lifesaver when you’re wrapping bezel wire around a stone. 🙌 Stick a little piece on your bench pin or a smooth surface—it holds the stone in place so you can wrap your wire snugly without it slipping around. Especially helpful for irregular shapes!
I use ultra-flush cutters to get bezel wire cuts that are so clean, there’s no need to file or sand the ends before soldering—a total time-saver at the bench.
For those looking into getting ultra-flush cutters, I’ve always used Lindstrom. I own both the #8145 Ultra-Flush® Tapered Head Cutter and the RX 8142 Ultra Flush Cutter, and they’ve been total workhorses at my bench—super precise and built to last.
Just make sure to always check the maximum wire size they’re rated for and only use them on soft metals—treat them right, and they should last you a lifetime!
