Create your own custom soldering supports using titanium strips β such a smart bench upgrade. π₯
This tip was shared by @theresapplegatejewelry, and I love how adaptable it is.
Titanium sheet can be cut to whatever height you need, solder wonβt flow onto it, they are a poor heat sink meaning they wonβt pull heat away from your work and when titanium gets caked with flux you can toss it right into the pickle pot. Theresa originally used these strips as sweat soldering clips (a tip she picked up from Lucy Walker Jewelry), then started using them sideways so the work spans the βU,β acting as a spacer above the firebrick.
In this video, she takes it one step further by making a taller titanium strip, giving the torch a little more room underneath β simple tweak, big improvement. One of those small bench hacks that makes soldering smoother and more controlled.
