This is my fifth annual holiday gift guide for jewelers, and I really look forward to putting this list together every year! Whether you have a loved one who is a professional jeweler or hobbyist or you are looking for something to splurge on for yourself this list should provide some awesome ideas!
THE PERFECT SOLDER PICK
I was absolutely delighted when GreenLion introduced the SolderWand this year! They come in a variety of bright, easy-to-find on your soldering bench colors and they have a magical vibe to them! I have tried many, many solder picks over the years and this is one of my favs. The solder doesn't stick to it, pick soldering is easy. It's lightweight. I am a fan and at $30 it's a great option as a gift or stocking stuffer.

A REMAKE OF A CLASSIC SOLDERING TOOL
Another tool that was introduced this year is the Ti-Quad Soldering Tripod from Lion Punch Forge. This titanium tripod quickly assembles into a stand that allows you to heat from below, solder hollow forms, you can even use it for enameling! The classic tool for heating from below would be a metal tripod with a mesh screen, a large tool which is more of a heat sink. While the Ti-Quad is an investment at $80 you can rest assured the non-corroding, non-rusting titanium will make for a long lasting tool you will get regular use out of for years to come. You are also supporting a small business!
A MEASURING TOOL GUARANTEED TO BE USEFUL
Another popular and incredibly useful tool that was created this year by Lion Punch Forge in collaboration with Marquis Jewelry Academy is the Steel Circle Template. I regularly use this etched steel grid to mark positioning on my pieces for soldering, arranging prongs, spacing engravings, stone settings, lining up bezels, and more with precision. Retails for $70 and will be an amazing addition to your toolbox.
AMAZING ABRASIVES
Another line of products that was introduced (to me...) this year are BANANASANDPAPER sanding sticks and sandpaper rolls for the flex shaft. First off, great name 🍌 the sanding stickers are amazing, they come in a wide range of grits from 120-2000. When you exhaust the sandpaper you peel a layer off. Both the sticks and the rolls have patent pending designs making that removal easy so you don't waste any abrasive (where as similar products in the past that has been a challenge.) LOVE THEM. These are available à la carte from Gesswein for you to try out. Each stick is $6.15 and the sandpaper rolls come in a package of ten for $19.75. AN ESSENTIAL TOOL YOU SHOULD INVEST IN
This isn't the first time I've had digital calipers on my holiday gift guide, they are one of those tools that you need eventually as you continue your jewelry making journey. They give you precise measurements, and you want to invest in one that won't get loose, be inaccurate or fall apart on you. I like and promote this brand because I have been using this pair for years and years. They work fantastic. This pair is currently on sale for $114.99 but they typically retail for $165-$200.
A SHIRT TO SPARK CONVERSATIONS

A GIFT TO GROW YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA
The reality is in order to sell our jewelry and grow our social media followings we have to consistently share content! In 2023 the best performing content on Instagram for jewelers has been process videos, sharing tips 😉 and "b-roll" which is just unpolished video clips of you in your studio. If your goal is to grow you need to share more and the CANVAS Lamp is the perfect tool. As I often say, I have tried ALL.THE.TRIPODS, and this is my favorite. Get a mini, clamp it onto the side of your bench and suddenly you can shoot overheads of your bench pin, soldering bench, and whatever else.
